As a custom builder, so far - we've never built the same barn twice. What we do consistently, however, is build quality barns framed to last for generations - regardless of size.
Your barn might be covered with metal, wood, hardi-plank or some other treatment. Your roof may vary from metal to hardi plank cedar shingle decorative treatment. If you dream it, we can build it and half the time we end up helping you design it. So big or small, short or tall, for one or thirty-five horses, no barn building project is too big or too small. We love our small barns just as much as our big barn projects. Don't think just because you want a small barn that you have to call your second cousin Billy Bob to throw up something that later you'd like to throw in a bon fire. Meet "Mary's Barn".
In Alpharetta, Georgia, Mary wanted a one stall barn for her newly adopted horse who could enjoy the company of the family's mini-horses who took cover in the run-in shed. A little equipment shed and one storage room and - her barn needs were met. It took us about 5 days and "what lah!" - Mary's Barn.
This shed style barn is constructed with solid 6 x 6 pressure 
treated poles placed 3' deep into the earth in concrete. The rafters are constructed on 2' centers - not 12' spans as many Georgia barn builders will profess as "quality." The 2' overhang functions to protect the siding of rough sawn board and batt. The walls are studded and covered on both sides. The ground plates are made of pressure treated 4 x 6 milled lumber. Mary's barn won't be leaking as the 29 gauge siliconized polyester metal is NOT secured to the rafters, but rather to the lathing constructed of 2 x 4s on 2' centers.
